Materials:
- An old basket or straw hat
- An old sock
- Buttons, felt, or fabric markers
Turn an old sock into a snake puppet by adding button, felt or fabric-marker eyes. A long felt tongue adds an extra touch. Poke a hole in the bottom of the basket (or the crown of the hat). Place the snake puppet over your child’s hand and arm. Show your child how to hold the basket with one hand and move the snake up through the hole in the bottom so it appears to be rising out of the basket. Sing or hum a mysterious snake-charmer melody to complete the illusion.
